The hotel

Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney — 4 nights A lively, welcoming 4-star hotel set on the edge of Killarney National Park. The Gleneagle offers a warm Irish atmosphere with excellent facilities, good food and great entertainment. It’s a spacious, comfortable base for exploring the region, with friendly staff and a relaxed feel. Facilities include an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, and evenings are a highlight at this large hotel with live music ranging from singers & bands to traditional Irish performers. Talbot Hotel, Wexford — 1 night – outward A stylish 4-star waterfront hotel in the heart of Wexford. The Talbot offers a comfortable, relaxing overnight stay with an indoor pool. Showcasing local art, it has a modern,feel, friendly service and hearty Irish fare. Treacy’s Enniscorthy Hotel — 1 night – return A contemporary 4-star hotel in the lively Templeshannon quarter of Enniscorthy. Treacy’s offers a high level of comfort, good food and a warm Irish welcome for our final night. Our adventure begins with a scenic journey across Wales and the Irish Sea before a relaxing overnight stay in the heart of Wexford. The following morning, we drift through Ireland’s rolling countryside towards County Kerry, pausing at legendary Blarney among other scenic stops as the landscape opens out around us. By mid-afternoon, we reach colourful Killarney, where we settle in for a few days surrounded by the lakes, mountains and timeless charm of this remarkable region. On our return journey, we travel east through soft green farmland, stopping in the thatched village of Adare and at the dramatic Rock of Cashel, before an overnight stay in Enniscorthy. The following day, we take the ferry home and enjoy a leisurely journey back through Wales, carrying home warm memories of Ireland’s landscapes, legends and hospitality…

Daily excursions and lunches

  • Muckross House & Gardens We visit magnificent Muckross House, a Victorian mansion surrounded by sweeping lawns, lakeside views and world-famous gardens. There’s time to explore the house, stroll the grounds, or simply enjoy the tranquillity of this beautiful corner of Killarney National Park.
  • Jaunting Car to Ross Castle & Free Time in Killarney A quintessential Killarney experience. Traditional horse-drawn jaunting cars take us on a relaxed, ride through the park to Ross Castle, set beside the still waters of Lough Leane. After time to explore, we continue into Killarney town, where the afternoon is yours to explore the colourful streets, shops & cafes.
  • Full Day Ring of Kerry Tour with Local Guide A highlight of the tour. With a knowledgeable local guide on board, we travel the legendary Ring of Kerry, a route of dramatic coastal scenery, mountain passes, Atlantic viewpoints and colourful villages. Expect stories, history, humour and unforgettable landscapes.
  • Scenic Stops on Our Journey On our way to Kerry, our scenic stops are all part of the holiday. On the outward journey we visit Blarney, home of the famed Blarney Stone. On the return, we stop in the charming thatched-cottage village of Adare, and also at the dramatic Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland’s most important historic landmarks. Memorable highlights that make the whole of the journey enjoyable.

    Accessibility

    All hotels on this itinerary offer lift access. Some of our historic visits — for example, Ross Castle — include staircases if you wish to enjoy the full experience. There will always be options to explore ground-floor areas & enjoy the atmospheric settings.

    All-Inclusive Cost

    £1,295 per person sharing a twin or double room. Sole occupancy of a twin or double room at a £50 per night supplement. A passport is not required for this holiday but you will need to bring one form of government-issued photographic ID, such as a driving licence or a bus pass.
